LAWYER
Matthew graduated from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law in 2018 with awards in Contract Law and Estate Planning Law. He worked with Oddleifson & Kaup as a Real Estate conveyancer during his university years from 2013-2017.
Matthew has now taken over Eric Oddleifson’s law practice and Brad Cody’s law practice, both of whom practiced law in St. Albert for many years.
Matthew is the second generation of Kaup lawyer, joining his father, Martin Kaup, as a partner in Kaup Law Office in 2019.
Matthew is proud to continue the tradition of service established by Martin, Eric, and Brad by applying a practical view of the law and advocating for his clients.
With what free time he has, Matthew enjoys the outdoors (particularly hunting), sports of all kinds (he is a jiu jitsu purple belt and plays men’s league basketball and hockey), reading (J.R.R. Tolkien and Brandon Sanderson are his favourite authors), and time with his wife and four children (Matthew and his wife homeschool their children and stay involved in their home Christian church).
Matthew is happy to assist clients in the areas of Real Estate, Wills and Estates, and Corporate/Commercial Law.
